ABOUT MATT
FIFTEEN YEARS OF DOGS. THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF EXPERIENCE. AND I'M STILL LEARNING.
My name is Matt Luchsinger, and for nearly 15 years, dogs and dog training have been a major part of my life.
I started with roughly $100 in my pocket, working out of a garage and trying to learn everything I possibly could. What began small eventually grew into a six-figure dog training business, a large training facility, employees, schools, classes, private coaching, board-and-trains, and thousands of hours spent working with dogs and the people who love them.
But the part I'm most proud of isn't the business I built.
It's the education I gained along the way.
I've spent years traveling, studying, training, competing, attending schools and investing tens of thousands of dollars into continuing my education. I've had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside some of the best trainers in the world, and every dog, every client, every success and every failure has continued to shape the trainer and coach I am today.
And after nearly 15 years, one thing has become incredibly clear:
Great dog training isn't really about teaching dogs commands. It's about teaching people how to understand and communicate with the dog standing in front of them.
That's why I created MLK9.
MLK9 represents everything I've learned—and everything I'm still learning—about relationship, communication, clarity, accountability, reliability, and ultimately freedom.
I believe in education over punishment. I believe tools should support communication, never replace it. I believe rewards should reinforce the relationship, never become the relationship. And I believe our responsibility as handlers is to first create understanding before we ever demand accountability.
Most importantly, I believe the purpose of training is not to create a dog that simply performs commands.
It's to develop a confident, capable, reliable dog that can share more of life with you.
A dog that can work. Play. Explore. Travel. Settle. Make good decisions. And experience the kind of freedom that only reliability can provide.
I'm still a student of dogs. I expect I always will be.
MLK9 is the next chapter of that education—and an opportunity for me to pass what I've learned on to you.
Build reliability. Create freedom.
Want to train together?
Tell me about your dog and the life you want to share. I’ll help you choose the right starting point.
